Andy Warhol: Beyond Borders – An Immersive Exhibition of Pop Art Icons

With 180 works, the exhibition retraces the artistic career and life of the great American artist, as well as the fundamental themes of his aesthetic. It begins with his formative years as an illustrator in the advertising and fashion industries—two worlds that deeply influenced his career and strategies as a Pop artist.

Exploring Warhol’s Influence: Fashion, Music, Cinema, and Consumerism

The exhibition explores themes such as fashion, music, cinema, and consumerism: these key aspects not only marked Warhol’s work but continue to be essential elements in contemporary art.

Iconic series such as Campbell’s Soup, Flowers, and Marilyn, along with portraits of famous figures like Jackie Kennedy, Muhammad Ali, Grace Kelly, and even Superman and Mickey Mouse, show how the artist transformed mass culture into timeless icons. The works on display come from European collections, including numerous 1950s magazines and a significant number of issues of *Interview* magazine, dozens of vinyl album covers, videos, and photographs.

Multimedia Installations: A Unique Experience

Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore two multimedia installations in the “music” section:

• The Exploding Plastic Inevitable (1966) with Nico and the Velvet Underground led by Lou Reed
• Silver Clouds, a room filled with helium-inflated silver pillows that float in the air, creating a playful and interactive atmosphere—symbolizing Warhol’s visionary genius.

Warhol’s Transformative Legacy in Art and Culture

The exhibition reveals the central role Warhol played in making popular culture a legitimate and influential artistic theme, transforming iconic images and consumer objects into works of artistic value.
