{"id":1143,"date":"2012-01-19T16:14:58","date_gmt":"2012-01-19T15:14:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madeinart.it\/it\/?p=1143"},"modified":"2016-10-17T18:14:12","modified_gmt":"2016-10-17T16:14:12","slug":"garon-by-yuval-avital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madeinart.it\/en\/garon-by-yuval-avital","title":{"rendered":"Garon by Yuval Avital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<h4>CONCERTO FOR THE SHOW&#8217;S CLOSURE<\/h4>\n<div class=\"featured-video\"><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Garon by Yuval Avital: 45 Tubas for Anish Kapoor\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EKpStRk-TMs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<p><strong>A composition dedicated to Anish Kapoor.<\/strong> A large-scale sonic experiment, a concert designed to involve the public and performers in an architecture of meanings and structures: <strong><em>GARON<\/em><\/strong> (in Hebrew &#8211; &#8220;throat&#8221;) the brand new opera of <strong>Yuval Avital<\/strong>, an emerging talent of the international contemporary music scene, invited by <em>Madeinart<\/em> to dialogue with \u00a0the space of the \u00a0&#8220;<strong>Cathedral&#8221;<\/strong> of \u00a0the <em>Fabrbrica del Vapore<\/em> (<em>in Italian &#8220;the steam factory&#8221;<\/em>) one of the city&#8217;s major arts venues located in the heart of Milan, created in a 19th century industrial complex: where the monumental installation<em> Dirty Corner<\/em> was on view. The concert is a co-production of MADEINART &amp; Maga Global Arts, the Milan-based performing arts organization in which Avital is the Artistic director, and MilanoSonora. <em>GARON<\/em> is a real journey of listening with an exceptional overwhelming inedited orchestration: <strong>40 tubas<\/strong> (ranging from contrabass Tubas to Euphoniums &#8211; the tenor tubas) are the foundation of this original sonic mass (in a stable orchestra usually only one tuba player is present), <strong>6 percussions<\/strong>, <strong>1 choir of 16 singers<\/strong>, <strong>4 soloists of extended vocal techniques<\/strong>, <strong>3 conductors<\/strong>, <strong>1 programmer<\/strong> for the <strong>live electronics<\/strong> played in <strong>12 speakers<\/strong> &amp; one composer\/director.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"kapoorGaron\" src=\"http:\/\/madeinart.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/kapoorGaron.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"570\" height=\"357\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is a one of a kind tribute both to the musical world of Avital and the archetipical and essential forms of Kapoor. <strong>GARON<\/strong> is a musical composition of excellence that plays around the work <strong>Dirty Corner<\/strong>, a cor-ten steel tunnel 60 meters in length and 8 meters high, using as an ambient space for listening vibrant and evocative sounds.\u00a0The encounter between the viewer\u00a0and the \u00a0music of\u00a0<strong>Avital<\/strong> promises to <strong>revive an archaic world<\/strong> of communication and evoke far away cultural worlds. The power of the unconscious is intended to reverberate in an environment that will serve, not only as container, but as a provider of meaning and active resonance. It is the first time that a large scale formation of tubas is being used in contemporary music and, this important sonority suggests a form of sonic ritual closer in its aesthetics to Tibetan sacred music rather than to classic musical traditions.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"yuval\" src=\"http:\/\/madeinart.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/yuval.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"375\" \/>Viewer can delve \u00a0as usual into the \u00a0sculptural work, progressing gradually towards the darkness, but only for one \u00a0time in a space made of electronic sounds, and three-dimensional polyhedra, in a kind of icon\/sonic pilgrimage. The tuba players united to perform this work by <strong>M\u00b0 Eros Sabbatani<\/strong>, A Miraphone artist and one of the virtuosos of the instrument of Europe, <strong>will arrive in Milan from 9 Conservatories of Italy<\/strong>: from <em>Giuseppe Verdi<\/em> of <strong>Milan<\/strong>, <em>Gaetano Donizetti<\/em> in <strong>Bergamo<\/strong>, <em>Guido Cantelli <\/em>in <strong>Novara<\/strong>, <em>Giuseppe Verdi<\/em> in <strong>Turin<\/strong>, <em>Santa Cecilia<\/em> in <strong>Rome<\/strong>, <em>Alfredo Casella<\/em> of <strong>Aquila<\/strong>, <em>Nino Rota<\/em> of <strong>Monopoly<\/strong>, <em>Vincenzo Bellini <\/em>in <strong>Palermo<\/strong> and <em>Angelo Corelli<\/em> of <strong>Messina<\/strong>. <strong>The participation in GARON, of teachers and \u00a0young students from such different realities, expresses a national Italian project which marks a milestone in musical sharing and networking.<\/strong> <strong>Yuval Avital \u00a0and all the musicians has joined the initiative promoted by Anish Kapoor, Clifford Chance and Madeinart to support <em>Banco alimentare <strong>Foundation Onlus\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>(the Food Bank) \u00a0that fights hunger in Italy.<\/strong> The concert lasted about 50 minutes and was repeated 3 times (7.30 p.m.; 9 p.m.; 10.30 p.m.).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Garon concert support:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bancoalimentare.it\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"banco\" src=\"http:\/\/madeinart.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/banco.png\" width=\"184\" height=\"81\" \/><\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CONCERTO FOR THE SHOW&#8217;S CLOSURE A composition dedicated to Anish Kapoor.
