From 31 May, two different exhibition venues \u2013 the Rotonda di via Besana (31 may to 9 october 2011) and the Fabbrica del Vapore (31 may 2011 to 31 jannuary 2012) \u2013 will be concurrently hosting two important shows curated by Gianni Mercurio and Demetrio Paparoni. This important initiative is among the most eagerly anticipated art events in Italy. It is being promoted and produced by the City of Milan\u2019s departments for culture, and for sport and free time,<\/strong> together with the Madeinart society for art production. The site-specific installation Dirty Corner will fully occupy the \u201cCathedral\u201d of the Fabbrica del Vapore. This installation \u2013 realized with the backing of the Galleria Continua<\/a><\/strong>, the Lisson Gallery<\/strong><\/a>, and the Galleria Massimo Minini<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 consists of a huge steel volume 60 metres long and 8 metres high which the visitors can enter. The entrance is goblet-shaped; the interior and exterior surface is circular and has only a minimum contact with the ground. The work will be progressively covered with some 160 cubic metres of soil.<\/p>\n The Rotonda di Via Besana,<\/strong> instead, will host a wide-ranging group of large works created over the past ten years; for the first time in Italy it will be possible to see works that have revolutionized our way of understanding sculpture.
